創作中總能將大不列顛地區民謠及搖滾風格完美融合的蘇格蘭歌手艾美麥當勞(Amy Macdonald)，隨著年歲漸長，她總是為自己早期的作品加入各種版本的變化，我們會聽到她在精選輯中仍然重新嘗試翻新多首早已經膾炙人口的經典作品，其中像是我個人多年來愛到難以忘懷的「This is The Life」原聲版(acoustic)、還有大型音樂季的LIVE重新編曲配器版，然後我們還會注意到她整隻左臂越來越華美精緻的刺青…而艾美麥當勞在2021年在蘇格蘭格拉斯哥(Glasgow)每年舉辦的TRNSMT Festival的登台演出，應該最能夠佐證我現在敘述的一切，從她的作品的每一個細節，都能聽得見她用生命創作的痕跡。
艾美麥當勞的創作大多節奏強烈、主副旋律不停重複直到貫穿全曲，除了歌曲本身很動聽之外，不能錯過也最引人入勝的是她寫的歌詞，艾美麥當勞經常以吟遊詩人(Bard)的視角出發，娓娓道出一個個曲折離奇故事：像是代表作之一的歌曲「搖滾先生」(Mr Rock And Roll)，精準又感傷地講述成年人的感情世界，如何相愛容易相處難；歌曲「毒藥王子」(Poison Prince)則是第一人稱視角拆穿渣男真面目，不留情面地指出對方的性格軟弱又自私的一面；「來組團吧 」( Let's Start A Band)強而有力地表達自己渴望在音樂事業中擲地有聲的熊熊熱情；最後是感人的歌曲「哈德遜」(The Hudson)探索夫妻共同生活超過半世紀，兩人漸行漸遠的感情是否還能挽回？我喜歡艾美麥當勞從不隱瞞她的激情、她的瘋狂、她的執著。
